Taking a stand in the era of stakeholder capitalism

More than ever, organisational change will be a driving force for positive environmental, societal and economic improvement. We encourage all (corporate) leaders to acknowledge and model positive leadership to all their stakeholders in real life: in the policies they make, the tone they set, in the rules they break, in the progress for people and planet they initiate and drive. And then ensure that they use powerful tools such as LinkedIn to proliferate their leadership to all stakeholders. This index aims to give us indicators and an overview of the virtual and physical real life positive impact of C-level communication.

Insights
Germany is the country where women are the most represented at C-level while still remaining a minority
Gender diversity and women's representation was a focus in developing this index. While it comes as no surprise that female C-level is underrepresented in every country analysed, Germany does seem to be one step ahead than France and UK. Likewise, they impact the overall score of this index, as they amount for a substantial part of the female representation. As this index can only be a baseline, we imagine and hope to see bigger female impact over the coming years and shed light on the impact of gender diversity within corporate environments.
A comparative advantage in female representation that doesn’t translate into a better female ranking
Germany is the country of this index with highest level of female representation, with six of seven sectors also being represented by female voices. This better overall representation does not equal larger digital share of voice: Germany is the only country of this index where female C-levels do not perform better than their male counterparts. Any conclusions here can only be pure conjuncture – but a deep dive into these profiles and their focus will be time well spent.
German tech and mobility C-levels strongly outperform their French and British counterparts
This may seem stereotypical, but Germany's competitive edge is also the C-level strong suit – its competitive expertise in technical fields is being reflected in the way national tech and mobility C-levels demonstrate their leadership online. Scoring significantly higher than their British and French counterparts, German tech and mobility C-levels seem in tune with the challenge of today, enabling them to generate strong engagement from their community and a positive impact at the same time.
The Technology / telecommunication C-Levels rank highest as a sector in Germany
German C-levels in technology could be considered best practice for their overall national counterparts as they are top the list and demonstrate meaningful digital leadership. If the size of their communities, which is often correlated to the size of the company, accounts for a substantial part of this success, we should not forget the importance of the editorial essence that those C-levels integrate at the heart of their communication, which also accounts for an important part of their visibility within this index.
